Mt. Zion Baptist Church

Established 1820


 

Mt. Zion was established in 1820 among the beautiful hills and hollows typical of Franklin County, MS. It has been a beacon for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Little Springs community for the past 180 years.

 

Some of the first members were Roland Wilkinson, pastor; Thomas Swearingen, M. Murray, Loyd Temples, Alfred Temples, Adam Cloy, Calvin Magee, James Cain, Adam Cotton, Joseph Cotton, H. S. Anderson, the Youngs, the Byrds, the Clarks, and Russel Jones.
